What is a Locator? A Locator is a file, which tells the game where to find certain other files like Skins, Avatars, Music, etc..
Thats important for the Multi player Mode, because others don't have to wait hours to see your skin/avatar.
The Locator is always in the same dir with the main file.
Example: In your skin dir:
"my-cool-car.zip" and "my-cool-car.zip.loc"
In "my-cool-car.zip.loc" is the path to the online stored file.
How to install downloaded Files from this website? [Trackmania Nations /United /Forever]? Cars/Skins:

For each car on this website you can download an extra loc- file. Save it in the StadiumCar- folder beside your downloaded car. It reduces the time, it takes, to display the car for the Other Players.

For each music file on this website you can download an extra loc- file. Save it in the Challenge Music- folder beside your downloaded music file.
Others can´t see my car. What´s wrong? At first you have to authenticate your account at this website: http://www.trackmanianations.com/indexUk.php This is important! Otherwise nobody can see your car. To do so, you need a valide cd-key from an older trackmania version.
And you have to activate file up/downloading for your game. You can do this using the launcher and open the advanced options.
You have to know, that it can take long till the others see your car, cause the game save bandwidth for gameplay and use only a minimum for data transfer (cars/avatars). If you on a server with 35 people all 35 people have to download the files direct from your pc. if you have a dial up connection it would take very very long. you can save bandwidth by using locator files..
Can the downloads from this site be used with TMU? Short answer: YES! The files work for all Trackmania titles since Trackmania Nations.
